Summary
Reality Games, the developers of Monopoly World, a new location-based version of the classic board game, has closed a $4.7m funding round to accelerate its global launch.
The funding round was led by a combination of angel investors and strategic backers, including Republic angel investors, Polish venture capital firm Unfold VC, and Swiss private equity firm Acquinox.
Monopoly World blends the original game with real-world property ownership, using AI-driven valuation and interactive gameplay to allow players to buy, sell and trade over 100 million real-world locations.
The new game encourages players to explore and interact with their surroundings using a “walk-to-earn” mechanic that rewards in-game currency for brand promotions, loyalty rewards and real-world benefits.
Reality Games hopes to scale up product development and AI solutions and expand partnerships with global brands with the new funding.
