Red Pitaya launches new version of the “Raspberry Pi” of measurement gear

Red Pitaya has launched an affordable, open-source platform for software-defined measurement equipment, akin to the “Raspberry Pi of measurement gear”, according to CEO Mateja Lampe Rupnik.
The company has released its STEMlab 125-14 Gen 2 product, which features improved performance, connectivity and modularity.
The device uses Xilinx FPGA and ADCs/DACs by Analog Devices and offers 125 MSPS with 14-bit resolution.
Red Pitaya’s products are already used by more than 400 universities and schools globally, as well as organisations such as NASA, Apple, Meta, Neuralink and Toyota.
Following the successful launch, the company is also partnering with Texas Instruments to create a low-latency board optimised for real-time control systems, radar and LiDAR applications.
