Summary
Longdue has released a trailer for its debut “psychogeographic” RPG Hopetown, which is a spiritual successor to Disco Elysium.
The indie developer has also announced that its Kickstarter campaign will go live on March 17, with a pre-launch page now available for those wishing to register for notifications and access a limited set of backer rewards.
In Hopetown, the player takes on the role of a rogue journalist in a mining town and must use words as a weapon, with decisions having an impact on both the world and the player character themselves.
The game’s Narrator, Lenval Brown, and other team members from the original Disco Elysium, including writer Martin Luiga, plus a number of new talent, are all involved in the project.
Hopetown will be a “crucible of choices,” with Lenval Brown claiming that it feels good to be “back, to step into something new”.
