Summary
Turkish mobile games company Good Job Games has received $23m in a seed funding round, eight years after its founding.
The funding was led by Tripledot cofounder Akin Babayigit’s new games fund Arcadia, along with investment from Menlo Ventures.
Good Job Games became one of the most successful hypercasual game publishers within its first two years of operation, amassing more than three billion downloads.
Since then the company has sold its game Zen Match and focused on the tile-matching game Match Villains, a move that has delivered “incredible long-term retention metrics”, according to Wu of Menlo Ventures.
The company’s founder and CEO, Ilker Ilicali, said the funding would be used to scale the Match Villains game and grow its player base.
