Gaming company Opus Major, which is backed by Griffin Gaming Partners and Alven investor, has raised $10m to build a global gaming studio that brings music and gaming together.
Founders Jean-Nicolas Vernin and Pierre-Armand Nicq plan to create a multiplayer adventure where music can be used as a form of magic, allowing players to form bands with friends to save the world through music-powered gameplay.
While the company has plans to create further gaming content, its first opus is in development, with a limited access version due to be released this year.
Griffin partner Pierre Planche said that the company’s creative approach of combining music and gaming felt unique and the firm is excited to be involved in the enterprise.
Opus Major is currently recruiting developers, designers and creatives to join its Paris team.
