Summary
The Kickstarter campaign for a reissue of Van Burnham’s 2003 coffee table book Supercade, which covers the evolution of video games from 1971 to 1984, has already raised more than three times its $34,000 goal.
Burnham has signed on to produce a deluxe reissue of the book, which will have over 500 colour pages and will document the early history of the games industry.
She is also working on establishing a Supercade Museum and expanding the Supercade Collection, which will become one of the most significant archives of video and computer games, artefacts, art, and ephemera.
Burnham is working with backers and contributors to ensure that the new edition of the book is as comprehensive as possible.
She said she will use any funds raised over the $34,000 to keep the Supercade Collection growing and original games playable for future generations.
