Studio People Can Fly phases out VR games, citing retreat in investments from platform holders

Summary
Polish video game developer and publisher People Can Fly has decided to phase out its VR game publishing business according to its latest financial disclosure.
It stated that there has been a significant reduction by VR platform providers in investment in the production of new VR games, with platforms such as PlayStation, Meta and Valve all reducing their expenditure.
This comes as Meta recently shut down its in-house VR gaming studio Ready at Dawn, and other VR studios such as Sanzaru Games have not disclosed sales figures for popular titles such as Asgard’s Wrath II.
It is thought that the withdrawal of financial support from companies providing the software is a major factor in the lack of willingness to take risks in the VR gaming space.
