Summary
Roblox is releasing its generative AI system Cube to the open-source community.
The Cube will underpin many of the company’s AI tools going forward.
It has been trained on native 3D data to create fully compatible objects for gaming engines and is capable of creating complete functional environments with objects that are functional, like drive-able garages, for instance.
The platform also allows users to quickly design and create more complex and functional scenes in the future.
Roblox execs Anupam Singh and Nick Tornow said in a blog post that the company is committed to an open-source AI community and will make its AI safety models open source too.
The firm also announced updates to Roblox Studio including an upgraded UI, real-time translation API and an improved Asset Manager at the Game Developers Conference (GDC).
