Qualcomm unveils Snapdragon G Series processors for handheld gaming

Chip maker Qualcomm has expanded its Snapdragon G Series platform for mobile gaming to include the mid-range Snapdragon G3 Gen 3, the budget Snapdragon G2 Gen 2 and the entry-level Snapdragon G1 Gen 2 chips.
All three, aimed at different levels of gamer, will provide 1080p gameplay at up to 120 frames per second and comes with a host of gaming-related features, including support for Unreal Engine 5’s Lumen, for lighting effects.
The fastest processor, the Snapdragon G3 Gen 3, is capable of 30% improved CPU performance and a 28% boost in graphics rendering compared to its predecessor, while also offering greater energy efficiency.
Qualcomm has also equipped the chips with DX12 HDR capabilities and support for the latest Wi-Fi standard, Wi-Fi 7, for lower latency and bigger data pipes into games.
