Styngr makes it easier to license music for video games

Summary
Styngr has become the only pre-cleared major label partner able to offer music to the gaming industry.
It has licensed full music catalogues from the likes of Universal, Sony, Warner and BMG, with more than 100 million pre-cleared songs for use in games across PC, mobile and console devices.
The firm’s technology allows gamers improved access to music within games, which enhances the user experience, and allows developers and labels to monetise the access to music.
Last year, Styngr launched Soundboard, which allows players to personalise their in-game experiences using music snippets from artists at Warner Music Group, including Coldplay.
It also released Boombox, a microtransaction-based in-game music player that allows developers to launch and monetise playlists.
Last week, the firm announced a partnership with Moonsworth, which will bring fully licensed music from major labels into Minecraft for the first time on PC and console.
