Summary
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang doubled down on the company’s vision for an AI-centric future during his keynote speech at the GPU Technology Conference (GTC) on 18 March.
In an effort to rebound from a slump following the release of China’s DeepSeek’s efficient R1 reasoning model, Huang unveiled several products and partnerships meant to establish Nvidia as an end-to-end AI infrastructure company.
They included the next generation of its AI chips, the Vera Rubin and Rubin Ultra, that will offer 14 times the computational power of current systems; open-source software entitled Dynamo that optimises AI inference; and the Groot N1, an open-source, fully customisable robot.
In addition, the company announced partnerships with Google DeepMind and Disney Research to develop Newton, an open-source physics engine for robotics simulation, and with General Motors to build its self-driving car fleet.
Huang notably framed DeepSeek as an opportunity for increased demand, reframing it as a challenge rather than a threat to Nvidia’s business model.
The stock closed down 3% on the day of the speech.
