Summary

  • Security platform Cyberhaven has developed Linea AI to combat the growing problem of ‘shadow AI’, which sees enterprise employees using external AI tools for work purposes without their employer’s approval.
  • Linea AI tracks data lineage, analysing data from images, screenshots, diagrams and other materials to better understand where data is coming from, and who has had access to it, in an effort to stop employees leaking sensitive and proprietary data.
  • The platform uses a large lineage model (LLiM) that has been trained on billions of real-world data flows and can analyse 90% of the data, meaning fewer incidents need manual review.
  • Its new autonomous “Let Linea AI Decide” feature assesses the severity of policy violations to further cut down security operations centre (SOC) alert fatigue.
  • As a result, customers see a 90% reduction in incidents requiring manual review and an 80% reduction in the mean time to respond to data security incidents, whilst the platform discovers 50 critical risks not detected by traditional tools.
