Game Informer, the longest running gaming magazine in the US, which had been shut down by parent company GameStop over 7 months ago, has now been bought by blockchain gaming company Gunzilla Games.
The entire Game Informer team, which had been working on the magazine for 33 years, has been rehired.
The magazine will now operate independently as Game Informer Inc, and its online presence will also be reinstated.
There are also plans to reinstate the print publication, and to expand member and subscription benefits.
Gunzilla’s CEO, Vlad Korolov, said of the acquisition: “Its legacy spans over 33 years, the publication has had a dedicated readership since its inception and still holds a special place in the hearts of many players across multiple generations — including us.
