  • Yoko Shimomura, the noted composer of video game music scores, has been named as the recipient of this year’s BAFTA Fellowship, the highest honour bestowed by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.
  • The Japanese composer is recognised for her compositions for the Kingdom Hearts franchise, Final Fantasy XV, and Xenoblade Chronicles, amongst many others.
  • The Fellowship will be presented at the BAFTA Games Awards ceremony in April.

  • Millichip added that Shimomura’s work has inspired many other artists and will continue to do so for generations to come.
