HYBE IM raises $21M to boost publishing and IP-based games

South Korean gaming firm HYBE IM has secured $21m in a round of investment to expand its publishing and intellectual property (IP) gaming services.
South Korean firms IM Investment, Shinhan Venture Investment and Daesung Private Equity contributed to the funding, which will support the launches of upcoming large-scale multiplayer role-playing games Architect: Land of Exile and Arkheron.
The additional funds will be used to enhance marketing, operations and localization strategies for HYBE IM’s titles.
The company, which has about 300 employees, aims to evolve into a “next-generation publisher” delivering content to gamers worldwide, said president Wooyong Chung.
HYBE IM has already launched one game, Rhythm Hive, in February 2021.
