I asked an AI swarm to fill out a March Madness bracket — here’s what happened

Summary
New generative AI technology enables teams of any size to hold real-time conversations and come to AI-optimised solutions, despite research showing that large groups tend to monologue.
Known as conversational swarm intelligence, or hyperchat, it breaks down large groups into a set of parallel subgroups that are merged using AI agents called conversational surrogates.
The technology has been put to the test with a group of 50 random sports fans who were asked to create a March Madness bracket, which was then entered into the ESPN March Madness contest.
So far, the bracket is performing in the 99th percentile.
The technology has also been used in studies with groups of 35 and 75 people, who took IQ tests and solved creative challenges, respectively.
The groups that used hyperchat scored an effective IQ of 128, saw themselves as more productive and collaborative, and felt they surfaced better solutions and had more buy-in.
