Gamescom strikes deal to remain in Cologne, Germany

Gamescom, the world’s largest event for computer and video games, has secured a long-term deal to remain in Cologne, Germany.
The deal was signed by the CEO of Koelnmesse, Gerald Böse, and the German Games Industry Association.
The event, which saw record attendance in 2024, will be further expanded under the terms of the agreement.
It attracted a total of 1,462 exhibiting companies from 64 countries and 335,000 visitors from 120 countries in 2024.
As part of the deal, the partners have agreed to further strengthen Gamescom’s diverse formats worldwide and invest in its brand and international reach.
The City of Cologne and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia have also pledged their support and extended funding measures as part of the contract.
