The updates include support for Firestore, Bigtable, and Oracle, alongside the AlloyDB database, with the search giant particularly focusing on the latter.
VP of Engineering, Databases at Google Cloud, Andi Gutman, explained that the firm is aiming to “deliver on a 50-year-old promise” by enabling SQL to mimic natural language.
This will be done through a new AI query engine and the firm’s Agentspace platform, which will also be launched during the event.
In addition, Google has improved the vector search capabilities of AlloyDB, while also introducing new real-time capabilities for Bigtable.
