Spexi unveils LayerDrone decentralized network for crowdsourcing high-res drone images of Earth

Spexi Geospatial is launching the LayerDrone Foundation, a decentralised network to encourage a community of amateur drone pilots to capture ultra-high-resolution Earth imagery.
Over 100,000 missions have been flown to capture standardised imagery across the largest cities in North America, it said, with pilots mapping about 170 cities.
Drone pilots are issued missions and can earn around $50 per flight, with more than 5,000 people in the company’s Discord channel.
The Foundation will launch a crypto token to incentivise capture through the network and Spexi.
