Looking Glass unveils 5K 27-inch light field 3D display

Looking Glass has released a 5K 3D holographic display, which does not require users to wear special glasses or headsets to experience the 3D effect.
The 27-inch horizontal or vertical display is only one inch thick and generates 16 inches of virtual depth, with 45 to 100 perspectives shown simultaneously within a 53-degree view cone, allowing multiple users to see the display clearly.
It can be powered from an iPad, making it more portable and cheaper to operate than some competitors, and is aimed at businesses looking to entertain or communicate ideas.
The device is available for pre-order at a 20% discount, selling for $8, 000 u n t i l 30 A p r i l, a f t er w hi c hi tw i ll re t u r n t o i t s MSRP o f$ 10,000, with shipments due to begin in June.
