Respawn migrates Apex Legends to Amazon GameLift Servers

Summary
Respawn, the maker of battle royale video game Apex Legends, which is owned by gaming company Electronic Arts (EA), has migrated the game to Amazon Web Services (AWS).
The move is aimed at improving the gaming experience for players by reducing lag, rubber-banding and hit registration issues.
To mark the migration, Respawn will give players double XP for a week and double Battle Pass Stars for three days.
EA has cited Amazon’s “global infrastructure” and “flexibility on the new infrastructure platform” as key benefits delivered by the switch.
The migration apparently took less than two weeks to execute and was planned months in advance.
