Indie game developers Tadej Gregorcic and Jernej Kocjancic have released their new Steam title Elroy and the Aliens, a point-and-click adventure game influenced by 1990s LucasArts titles.
According to Gregorcic, the game’s writer, the idea for the game was conceived in 2009, but the launch was not realised until this month, following 11 years of sporadic development and self-funding.
The title currently has positive ratings on Steam and GOG, receiving particular acclaim for its exploration, story and puzzles, which echo the developers’ 90s inspirations.
Gregorcic described the game as a “passion project” with high production values and highlighted the title’s 10,000 lines of recorded dialogue, high-resolution hand-drawn artwork and original soundtrack.
The game is available for download from Steam for $17.99/£15.99 and will include text translations in several different languages.
