  • The USC School of Cinematic Arts’ Ganek Immersive Studio has unveiled its line-up for its annual student showcase, where it will present a host of projects at varying stages of development highlighting “breakthrough” immersive storytelling.
  • The event, which takes place on 24 April at the SCA campus, comes after the studio spent the past year developing its post-production and real-time pipelines, incorporating technology including AI, machine learning and procedural tool creation.
  • “This year’s showcase highlights how our students are reimagining the art of storytelling through cutting-edge technology, turning imaginative concepts into compelling experiences,” said Jordan Halsey, associate professor and studio director.
  • Project include A Larger Living Space, where a man’s attempt to impress a girl through the purchase of an experimental product sees his tiny apartment transform in unexpected ways; and Performance Improvement Plan, in which a long-time data entry clerk is subjected to a sinister corporate programme.
