The USC School of Cinematic Arts’ Ganek Immersive Studio has unveiled its line-up for its annual student showcase, where it will present a host of projects at varying stages of development highlighting “breakthrough” immersive storytelling.
The event, which takes place on 24 April at the SCA campus, comes after the studio spent the past year developing its post-production and real-time pipelines, incorporating technology including AI, machine learning and procedural tool creation.
“This year’s showcase highlights how our students are reimagining the art of storytelling through cutting-edge technology, turning imaginative concepts into compelling experiences,” said Jordan Halsey, associate professor and studio director.
Project include A Larger Living Space, where a man’s attempt to impress a girl through the purchase of an experimental product sees his tiny apartment transform in unexpected ways; and Performance Improvement Plan, in which a long-time data entry clerk is subjected to a sinister corporate programme.
