Coinbase veterans NPC Labs have partnered with social network veterans Reach Labs to launch an open gaming platform using blockchain technology.
Reach Labs was founded by MySpace and Jam City co-founder Chris DeWolfe and former Jam City VP of strategy Jeremy Horn, and will publish first and third party game titles on its GameChain.
The platform aims to harness social network effects and financial incentives to improve user acquisition in the discovery of experiences.
DeWolfe stated that the partnership intends to solve the problem of “game discovery and user acquisition is is broken,” and that the new platform will offer “true transparency to users and developers… [and] prevent the significant amount of fraud that the user acquisition space has faced.”
