Summary
Game developer Thatgamecompany, known for Journey and Sky: Children of the Light, has joined with CoreBlazer, an investment brand of Hypergryph, to host a game jam for emerging indie developers.
The three-week event, which starts on 28 April, invites developers to create interactive, evocative games inspired by Thatgamecompany’s signature style of accessible, emotional games that appeal to all ages.
Submissions will be reviewed by teams from both companies, with finalist submissions reviewed by a panel including Thatgamecompany co-founder Jenova Chen and Hypergryph co-founder Light Zhong.
The game jam will offer visibility and awards/cash prizes, as well as an opportunity to showcase winning games at the CoreBlazer Game Fest in Shanghai in July.
Thatgamecompany said the aim of the jam is to “champion emotionally impactful games and a new generation of upcoming industry talent.
