Agent Pay will be integrated into Microsoft’s Copilot and Azure/OpenAI services.
Although Agent Pay is not based on generative AI, the technology is used by Mastercard for other products, such as fraud detection.
Generative AI and tokenisation technology can also be used in tandem, with tokenisation technology protecting user information during a transaction, while generative AI can verify transactions for fraud once they are initiated.
Mastercard also hopes the use of AI search functions on its platform will make it more competitive with Google.
