Summary
Grand Theft Auto VI has been delayed by Rockstar Games and will now be released on 26 May 2026, over a year after its originally planned launch date.
The game’s developers cited a need to ensure the game lives up to expectations as the reason for the delay.
Following the delay the company’s shares fell 10% in pre-market trading.
The much anticipated game’s trailers were released in 2023, however, parts of the game were leaked in 2022 following a hack.
The delay could mean that other games now have a better chance of success as publishers were allegedly reluctant to commit to launch dates close to a Grand Theft Auto release.
