Carry1st brings Call of Duty: Mobile tournament to Africa as championship qualifier

South African mobile gaming publisher Carry1st has raised $27m to develop and publish games across Africa.
The publishing house has also announced the return of its flagship Call of Duty: Mobile tournament as part of the Carry1st Africa Cup 2025, with over $1m up for grabs.
This year’s competition will be the largest yet, with more than 200 teams and 1,000 players from seven countries, and has been recognised by Activision as a qualifying tournament for the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship 2025.
The qualifier matches will take place online from May to July, with the Carry1st Africa Cup 2025’s LAN Grand Finals to be held in Lagos, Nigeria, in August.
A wildcard slot will allow teams from further African countries to participate.
