Mobile gaming franchise World Cricket Championship is partnering with professional cricket players to feature their names and likenesses in the games.
Over 500 players will be integrated into the game, and will be able to generate passive income from the licensing agreement.
The latest iteration of the game, World Cricket Championship 3, is currently being updated with players’ names and images, with a new entry in the series, World Cricket Championship 4, set to launch later in the year.
Integrating real players is intended to increase fans’ engagement with the game.
“Our license with Nextwave Multimedia is a great example of the kinds of long-term, athlete-centric collaborations that Winners Alliance is committed to creating”, said Eric Winston, president of Winners Alliance.
