Summary
Artificial intelligence (AI) start-up Glass Imaging has raised $20m in a Series A funding round led by Global software investor Insight Partners.
The California-based company uses AI to enhance picture quality by removing imperfections in images caused by lenses and sensors.
CEO Ziv Attar said the funds would be used to refine and deploy GlassAI technology across various camera platforms, ranging from smartphones to drones.
“The lab or computers can capture a lot of data from the camera and it learns to characterize lens aberration, sensor noise, optical blur, and then it creates a network that can reverse these things,” Attar told VentureBeat.
Glass Imaging aims to integrate its software into AR headsets, security cameras and cinema cameras, as well as smartphones.
