Summary
AI company Schemata, founded by Stanford University researchers, has emerged from stealth after announcing $5m in seed funding to develop its training platform that uses AI to transform 2D images into 3D training simulations.
The platform is already being piloted by the US Department of Defense.
The company uses 3D reality capture, spatial AI and contextual information to help create training scenarios that can be created in hours, rather than months, and which are 10 times faster and 85% cheaper than traditional training scenarios.
Such simulations can be used for training in everything from complex defence scenarios to managing hazardous environments such as oil rigs.
Schemata’s investors include Owl Ventures, Alumni Ventures, and Anorak Ventures.
